Ryan Lieberman Named MPSF Gymnast Of The Week

WOODLAND, Calif. - Freshman Ryan Lieberman has been named the MPSF gymnast of the week for his effort in the top-ranked Cardinal's 361.300 - 361.150 victory over No. 5 Michigan on March 2. This is the first time in his career he has achieved this honor and also the first gymnast of the week award for Stanford this season. Lieberman was solid against the Wolverines, competing in five events. He tied for fifth in still rings (15.000) and third in the high bar (14.700), but his best performance came in the final event of the final rotation, as he recorded a season best 15.500 in parallel bars to take the event title and boost Stanford over the Wolverines for the close victory. His 15.000 in still rings was also a personal season best. Lieberman and the rest of the Stanford gymnasts will be back in action this weekend as they take on No. 10 California in The Big Flip Off at Maples Pavilion on March 8 at 7 p.m.
