Stanford Off To Strong Start At NCAA Zone E Championships

The Stanford men's diving team got off to an outstanding start with the 3-meter competition at the 2008 Zone E diving Regionals from Oklahoma City, Okla. Nathan Kim led the Cardinal with a second place finish and in the process qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Kim finished with 691.60 points, trailing only Michele Benedetti of Arizona State who won the meet with 733.55 points. Kim, who was third after the prelims surpassed Mats Wiktorrson of Hawaii who led after the prelims, but fell to third in the final. Also faring well for Stanford was Brent Eichenseer who finished fifth with a score of 679.45. Eichenseer was fifth after the prelims as well. Stanford returns to the pool, Friday March 14 for the second day of the Zone E Championships when they compete in the 1-meter competition. Men 3m Championship (6 Dives)
