Stanford vs Sacramento State

Dec. 1, 2007

Head Coach Debby Colberg

Opening Statement:
"I thought we had trouble passing in the first game and that got us off wrong and they were able to score a lot of points on us early. The ball control was just lacking, Stanford was serving hard, deep floaters and it was hard to play because you aren't going to play a level higher than you can pass. Game 2 wasn't much better, we couldn't mount much of an attack at all in that second game. In the third game, they were a little down from what they are used to, but we weren't able to score in key moments and that cost us in the end. Hats off to Stanford, when they are in system they are a really tough team to defend.

On her program:
"We are trying to build a program here in Sacramento and I felt that this game went a long way to showing that were are continuing to improve. It always good to have proper perspective after a game like this, I felt like we played well.

Senior Jennifer
"I thought it was hard to play Stanford here, but we came out ready to play and were focused on winning the match. It's hard to go into a game like this that plays at such a high level, it is hard for a Big Sky conference team to come and play with the likes of Stanford.

Senior Lindsay Haught

"There will be confidence knowing that we were able to win our first round match and it will carry over to the team next year knowing and respecting Sacramento State. On Coach Colberg:
"Its been an amazing thing to play for a coach like Debby, and I feel like we have raised the expectations here and that will carry over to next year's team. I thought she always had us prepared on the court and it definitely showed this season."
