Stanford Quotes

Head Coach John Dunning:
"I would like to congratulate Cal Poly on a great match. If you consider where they were two years ago, you have to be amazed with where they are right now. They have done a great job. I think they are so much better than where when we played them early in the season." "I was very proud of our group tonight. I thought they did a great job preparing. They are in finals, writing papers, so I cannot imagine how hard their life is right now. But they handled it great. They knew their opponent and they were prepared. And that's awesome. That is what we have to do every step of the way."

Foluke Akinradewo- Jr. MB
"Every play I try to give my all for my teammates. Whatever I can do to help them out is what I do. It is always helpful when you have a great pass and a great set; it makes it a lot easier for a hitter." "UCLA is a great team. They are in our conference so we have played them twice right now. They are an emotional team and have great hitters and they never give up."

Erin Waller- Jr. OH
"I had good sets and I was making contact. Somehow the blockers seemed to be in the wrong spot so I got lucky on a couple. We were all playing as a team so it was fun and a good environment to play in. I always play better when I am really excited."

Cal Poly Quotes

Head Coach Jon Stevenson
"Stanford is an excellent team and they came out firing on all cylinders. During the first blast they hit us with, it was just enough to knock us right out and it's too bad. As great as Stanford is, I would like to see our team perform at a level that more represents how they played throughout the year. We have an excellent team. They worked so hard to get to this level and to this spot. And it's just very disappointing for us."

Kylie Atherstone- Jr. OPP/OH
"It was something I had been working on a lot in practice, so I was kind of frustrated with myself that I was not able to pass the ball to my teammates as well as I wanted."
