Some student-athletes, when they choose to live off-campus either during the academic year or the summer, make arrangements with local families to either stay in their house or guest house. If you have a living arrangement that does not involve a regular rental agreement with an established rental or apartment complex, then you probably fall under the following housing rules:
During the academic year:
Student-athletes who live in a “non-traditional” rental agreement must complete a Housing Agreement Form with Cara Hanelin PRIOR to moving in. This agreement, once completed by the student-athlete’s host, will be evaluated and a rent will be set by the Athletic Department based on market rate for that arrangement.
During the summer:
Student-athletes who live in a “non-traditional” rental agreement must complete a Housing Agreement Form with Cara Hanelin PRIOR to moving in. This agreement, once completed by the student-athlete’s host, will be evaluated and a rent will be set by the Athletic Department based on market rate for each particular arrangement.
Work duties may be performed to help reduce your monthly rent. House-sitting is specifically prohibited by NCAA rules.
